***
Wszak
A pozytywne zaskoczenia?

Uauhauhaua, great race.. I lost about 30 seconds on stage 7 or 8 which cost me a shot at the podium. I know I lost about 30 seconds, cos 2-3 guys passed me when I was in the sand! Nevermind, next year I will be even stronger Great event!

Re: SL Dakar 2014: Nowy król Dakaru
Wow. It would be nice to have english translation for that wall of text. Google translation is really bad at polish language.
It seems there were some technical problems which caused few to retire from rally and also gave Wokinger some problems. So race between him and Lanz could have been even tighter. I of course had to support my team mate, sorry if I caused Woki some bad feelings with my home stage advantage jokes.
I had the best result that I had chance to, so no complaining on that side. But my driving was quite bad and I even got stuck in jungle for almost like 10 seconds or so in that long stage. Shyguy was suprisingly competitive because I hadn't seen him in rally circles before, gave me nice battle. Szymek's breakdown was quite impressive, I didn't first even believe the results of that last stage.
I didn't have any techincal problems with the server but my issue with the game is that if stage size is bigger than 1500 pixels then zoom doesn't work that well and I have to drive with smaller size than I would like. On the other hand zoom works ok with mods and beta version so that problem is probably linked somehow to normal versions 2000px size limit. I could have tried having smaller resolution on my monitor but I didn't want to hassle with that.
Problem with organizing this kind of races seems to be mostly about downloading tracks. To many players it seems difficult task even Wokinger made it very easy this time with his installer. Also when tracks are not pre-released it causes automatically people to get late to server. I don't really have any good solution for that but I hope it gets better with future rallies.
Disconnection problems causing whole rally to get ruined is also problematic. I think it just requires best possible internet connection and not to use it for anything else while playing. I really haven't had any problems with szymek's server. Even big ping doesn't really effect rally driving so much. Maybe retired stage times could be adjusted more fairly when problem is disconnection. So that driver doesn't lose all motivation to finish the rally.
Anyway, I didn't have any real problems and was having fun so I hope there's more rally events soon. I probably don't have that much time to play but I will participate to all rally competitions.

Re: SL Dakar 2014: Nowy król Dakaru
really nice to finally win a rally event!
stages 5-8 made it possible! incredible rythm combined with some luck and therefore no mistakes opened the path for my win! was a hard fight on all the 13 stages! woki seemed to have some problems either! idk how much that costed him, i had not 1 little lag/warp! after i had a more then 20 sec lead i tried to stay calm and not to risk everything! not to give woki some hope that he can still catch me! not the best idea cos due to that i started making mistakes again, resulting in driving way more careful then before! i lost some time in the end but it was to late for woki to catch me! as you guys probably know im a big fan of this competition, after the PTM its the best we have! sadly other people dont seem to realize how awesome this is! didnt even realized that power finished 2nd! good job teammate!
thx for organizing it!

Re: SL Dakar 2014: Nowy król Dakaru
I had 3 short disconnection period, which cost me up to 10s. Also I had accident with Delux (not really caused by anybody) on junction, which cost me maybe 2 or 3s (crash at full speed). So after all I could have been really closed to Lanz on final stages, but.. It's Dakar and things like these just happen. I'm still like a Peterhansel, who finished 2nd this year
My pace was bad on first few stages. I lost to much time driving propably too carefully. After jungle stage my pace was back. I made unnecessary mistakes, which crossed out my chances to win, but I really enjoy driving last stages. Stages 3 to 5 were key to my defeat (and 4,5 key to Lanz success). Lanz was really fast and faultless yesterday. He fully deserved the success!
At this moment I don't know if I organise more rallies. For sure I won't organise series like RMPTS (I think that power with Szymek could organise it on easy. Power - stages developer, Szymek - series administrator).
I will come back to this topic maybe in March or April. But if I develop more stages it will be, for sure, in Dakar, Baja Poland style. (maybe orientation stages )

Re: SL Dakar 2014: Nowy król Dakaru
I made few tight battle vids from different stages with Tijny's video merging tool. Better to watch with fast forwarding as stages are really long. First car is normal and second is shown as ghost.
Stage #1
Woki_vs_Lanz (1. vs 2.): http://www.kolumbus.fi/arilai79/SLD3_01_Woki_vs_Lanz.tsr
Lanz seems to have faster pace but makes couple crucial mistakes and Woki takes the win.
Power_vs_Szy (3. vs 4.):http://www.kolumbus.fi/arilai79/SLD3_01_Power_vs_Szy.tsr
Szy in clear lead but drives offroad couple times and Power wins very narrowly.
Stage 2
Szy_vs_Power (3. vs 4.):http://www.kolumbus.fi/arilai79/SLD3_02_Szy_vs_Power.tsr
Again tight battle with these guys. Szy leads most of the stage but again bad finish and almost loses to Power.
Stage 6
Lanz_vs_Woki (1. vs. 2.):http://www.kolumbus.fi/arilai79/SLD3_06_Lanz_vs_Woki.tsr
Woki having dangerous seizure in the beginning but continues driving against doctors advice. And it almost pays off as he narrows down Lanz's lead meter by meter, but stage ends bit too early for him.
Stage 8
Woki_vs_Lanz (1. vs. 2.):
Unfortunately video merging failed because of Wokinger/Power collision when Power was getting lapped
But again was very tight race with less than half second separating them after over 9 minutes.
Stage 9
Woki_vs_Lanz (1. vs. 2.):http://www.kolumbus.fi/arilai79/SLD3_09_Woki_vs_Lanz.tsr
Again these masters of rally drivers competing side by side. Mistakes were made by both but in the end it evens out and Wokinger finishes only 0.3s in head of Lanz.
Stage 10
Shy_vs_Lanz (1. vs. 3.):http://www.kolumbus.fi/arilai79/SLD3_10_Shy_vs_Lanz.tsr
Woki was victim of another collision so instead of him this video includes winner Shyguy vs.
Lanz. Shyguy claims his first stage victory with steady driving.
Stage 13
Power_vs_Woki (1. vs. 2.):http://www.kolumbus.fi/arilai79/SLD3_13_Power_vs_Woki.tsr
And Power finally gets stage victory. Woki tries his best but in the end very easy win with HUGE 0.07s gap to Power.
Stage #1
Woki_vs_Lanz (1. vs 2.): http://www.kolumbus.fi/arilai79/SLD3_01_Woki_vs_Lanz.tsr

Lanz. Shyguy claims his first stage victory with steady driving.

And Power finally gets stage victory. Woki tries his best but in the end very easy win with HUGE 0.07s gap to Power.
3rd. But that was miracle indeed. I was over 30s behind Szymek at some point.Lanz napisał:didnt even realized that power finished 2nd!
Hey, I made rally track generator just so I don't need to make any tracks myself. Don't have the time anyway. I think Szymek could easily make decent tracks with that generator. Maybe some extra stuff for background etc. but still very little manual work needed.Wokinger napisał:
At this moment I don't know if I organise more rallies. For sure I won't organise series like RMPTS (I think that power with Szymek could organise it on easy. Power - stages developer, Szymek - series administrator).
I will come back to this topic maybe in March or April. But if I develop more stages it will be, for sure, in Dakar, Baja Poland style. (maybe orientation stages )

Re: SL Dakar 2014: Nowy król Dakaru
I could try organise sth official but firstly I want to be sure that it won't be senseless. There must be at least 6-7 guys who can join for the rally every week/two weeks.

Re: SL Dakar 2014: Nowy król Dakaru
Well I think even F1SL didn't have that much at every race last season. But anyway, You,me,Lanz are for sure. Maybe Woki comes back racing for support? Mike, if we set a day that suits his poker playing. Kryhmen,Arsen,Adam,Shyguy... sure there'll be enough. I remember last year's RMPTS was fun so most should come back maybe with couple new ones?szymek66 napisał:I could try organise sth official but firstly I want to be sure that it won't be senseless. Oh right, I recorded them with TS beta version (zoom works better) and I guess they are not compatible with normal version. Didn't think about that. Sorry.

nice one szymek!
